Horsforth hits the UK’s top 10 list of places to move
Anyone who lives in God’s Own County knows exactly why it has that nickname. Yorkshire is a fantastic place to be based, with everything from beautiful coasts and stunning countryside to cosmopolitan cities to meet your every need.
As a Leeds’ removal company, it was no surprise to us when a recent report from Rightmove revealed that one of the city’s suburbs was on the top 10 list of most desirable places to live in the UK. ‘Which one?’ was the only question, given the many amazing places to live in Leeds.
Well on this occasion they’re talking about Horsforth, to the North of Leeds. Not only was it mentioned in The Sunday Times’ annual Best Places to Live Guide 2021, but when Rightmove analysed the data from 2.7 million home hunters, Horsforth was one of the most sought after places to live in the country. The average price of a property in Horsforth is now £312,460 – £20,000 more than in April 2020.
Horsforth was the only place in Yorkshire to make the list and was topped only by Didsbury and Prestwich in Manchester, Walthamstow in East London and the Wirral in Merseyside.
But Horsforth certainly isn’t the only place in Leeds to move to if you’re looking for a great place to relocate. Chapel Allerton and Farsley also made the Sunday Times’ great places to live list. According to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Oakwood, Beeston, Pudsey, Moor Allerton, Belle Isle, Hyde Park, Woodlesford and Guiseley are also seeing lots of interest, as reported by local estate agents.
Areas such as Kirkstall and East Leeds – including Colton, Thorpe Park, Oulton and Rothwell – are also reportedly proving popular, with lots of new developments and facilities springing up.
