Leaving on a jet plane – Planning for an overseas move

According to the Office for National Statistics, around 345,000 people emigrated from the UK in the year to September 2018. Apparently around 5.5 million British citizens now live in other countries – that’s almost one in 10 of the population! Australia is the most popular place to go, followed by Spain, America and Canada.

You’ll firstly need to decide with us how best to transport your items to your new home. Depending on volume and location, air freight or road transfer may be possible, but shipping is often likely. We can offer full containers for those who are transporting large quantities, or group containers for those are happy to share and save a little money. Your items can be packed in wooden crates before being loaded if you prefer.

We can also offer advice on storage, either in the UK or abroad, to make sure all your timings coincide. If you’re travelling for a while before settling down, you don’t want to be worrying that your belongings are sat somewhere waiting to be claimed. Or perhaps your new house is taking longer to be ready for you than you expected, so you’re having to stay in hotels for a little while – no problem, let us speak to our international partners and we’ll make sure your items are kept safe and secure while you get settled.

Moving abroad is about so much more than just getting your stuff (and you) from A to B, and that’s why we’ll help you manage the whole process.
